Toronto, Canada – July 23, 2010Start thinking about a Certified Membership in an International organization of Enterprise Architects, Practitioners, Mentors and Instructors who have a vested interest in the Enterprise, its architecture, design, and implementation. Today we announce that all education credits since January 1, 2000 are being transferred into the new Zachman Framework Associates Certified Membership program. This program will have four certification levels:
The Enterprise Architect level are those who have completed the basic education requirement around the nature of Enterprise Architecture and the classification frameworks. The Enterprise Architecture Practitioner level are those who have complete some other recognized implementation framework, methodology or professional practice for Enterprise Planning and Implementation in addition to the Architect level. The Enterprise Architecture Mentor level are those who are recognized by those the assist all of us who are learning how to do Enterprise Architecture. These folks artfully demonstrate their understanding of the Architect and Practitioner levels. The Enterprise Architecture Instructors are those who have completed the previous 3 underlying levels and have the aptitude and communication skills to instruct others in the area of EA. All education credits currently allocated in your Account have been automatically be transferred to the new program. The Enterprise Architect level involves: A Basic 2 day course on how to use framework2 and strategies and examples of how to examine the enterprise and classify the components. An Advanced 3 day workshop on how to formulate the real world implementation constructs and improve their design quality with your methodology and Framework2. Two actual case studies are used. The last short quiz will revolve around the use of the Framework2 standards in our day to day work. We have removed the arduous 90 minute closed book examination, due to the reduction of lateral thinking into 100 randomized multiple choice questions, and the significant stress evidenced among the Beta test participants on 3 continents. - There will continue to be a requirement to have opened and be familiar with the Zachman eBook provided with the course and the Enterprise Framework2 standards and operation.
Some of the benefits of attaining these credits are numerous, and in summary are:- You will be invited to apply for certification by Zachman Framework Associates with the support of two existing members.
- You will have a secure office wall plaque, confirming your attainted certification level and public access over the web so that others can confirm you completed status levels and your three year expiry date.
- Your Architect ID which ZFA issued under the old program will continue under the new Certified Membership Program and a second logo for this program will be issued to avoid any copyright issues.
- You will have access to the Enterprise standards and community elaboration process.
- You will have ongoing access to the next versions of Framework2 and have the opportunity to express your support, concerns and recommendations during this elaboration process.
- You will be given the opportunity to write and publish about your practice area, methods supported, geographic operating area in several forms on our Zachman Framework Associates website.
- You will be given the opportunity to write and publish about your research area and encourage a community of practice to assist you in articulating and supporting your work.
- You will have access to Framework2 tool and methodology reviews and potentially personal use copies of these products to assist in your education and understanding of their operation and use.
- You will have the opportunity to connect with others in your own company, possibly industry, course comrades and geographic location.
- You may wish to contribute to the quiz question and answer pool for items that you feel were short changed or missing or misrepresenting the end.
- You will have the opportunity to provide course and product discounts to clients, associates and prospects.
